Handgun lovers are in for a treat today because Springfield has released a brand new pistol. It’s called the Springfield TRP 10mm RMR…and it’s a whopper! You don’t see guns chambered for 10mm that often, so it’s always a nice surprise when a gun maker releases a gun that uses it. In Springfield’s case, this new handgun is only their second gun to be chambered for 10mm…so this is a nice treat from them. But the buzz around Springfield’s new handgun isn’t just because it’s chambered for 10mm…it also has a lot to do with the overall quality of the gun. In short, this gun is great and that’s reflected in its price…which goes for around $2,558. Here’s what makes Springfield’s new 10mm so special. Right out of the gate you can choose between a 5-inch barrel or a 6-inch barrel. It’s always nice to have some customization options from…

The NRA annual meeting that was held in Dallas, Texas had many manufacturers showing off some of their new products. And while I wasn’t there myself, we can still find plenty of exciting photos of products thanks to the team at Guns.com. First up is a new bipod from Magpul. I wrote about Magpul’s new bipod in a previous post where it’s shown that it has several upgrades and looks like a pretty high-quality bipod. The only drawback that I can find is that it has a pretty heft price tag and as of yet still lacks reviews from early adopters. Next up is a new riflescope from Sig Sauer called the Ballistics Data Xchange, or more simply the BDX. The idea is that this scope has integrated applied ballistics and bluetooth. If you were hoping for a new handgun from Sig Sauer, your wish has been granted. On day…

If you’ve been paying attention to the news at all lately then you know how much of an anti-gun craze has been going on. And while this anti-gun trend started many years ago, the level it’s at now has reached new all time highs when it comes to backwards thinking. In the name of “public safety”, nonsensical laws are being enacted that blatantly violate the 2nd Amendment and strip away our right to bear arms. But even though the situation looks bleak, some companies are getting by through what some people might consider “loopholes” in the system. One of those companies who are getting around the system is Franklin Armory. As you probably already know, California is a very anti-gun state. Their gun laws are some of the strictest in the country and has led many would-be gun owning residents to give up on owning a gun. And as a…

Wilson Combat released a new AR carbine platform that’s designed for precision shooting. They’re calling it the Lightweight Ranger. The weight of a gun is an important consideration for some shooters. A lighter gun means they can carry it for a longer amount of time, which is great for those who take long trips or don’t have as much physical endurance. In the past, reducing the weight of a gun meant removing material from the barrel because it’s the largest and heaviest part of the gun. However, the drawback to removing material from the barrel is that it makes the barrel less rigid and less accurate. This sacrifice of accuracy has turned a lot of shooters away from lightweight guns, but the new Lightweight Ranger Line from Wilson Combat has found a happy medium for those who want a lighter gun without sacrificing too much performance. Their new Lightweight Ranger…

Sig Sauer has come out with some pretty unique pistol designs through the years, but almost all of them have used a hammer. However, the company suddenly released a striker-fire pistol back in 2014 called the Sig Sauer P320. The P320 didn’t just blend in with similar handguns, it stands out even today for it’s versatility, performance, and it’s modularity. The modularity is what many people love about the Sig Sauer P320. It can change calibers and configurations like no other gun on the market can. You could take the original compact 9mm P320 and have it turned into a competition sized .45 ACP in a surprisingly short amount of time. It’s thanks to that kind of adaptability that the gun has even been recognized by the military as being an outstanding gun, and has won the military’s XM17 Modular Handgun System. But the P320 X5 isn’t just a good…

Stag Arms has been making its own line of AR type rifles for years, and recently added a new type of gun to their lineup. Their newest gun is a shorter version of their Stag AR-10, calling it the 10S M-LOK. Stag offers two calibers for those who buy their 10S. You can use either .308 Winchester or use the popular 6.5 Creedmoor round. One of the big drawbacks of using an AR-10 rifle is that it just isn’t as popular and widespread as the AR-15. This made it so that finding parts that are interchangeable was harder… However, with the 10S, the engineers who designed it chose to use DPMS compatible receivers and components. This is one of the few standards that relate to the AR-10, which means that Stag’s AR-10 is about as versatile as it gets for an AR-10 when it comes to swapping out parts. Compared…

Walther’s PK380 has been the “go to” pistol for those who want a gun that’s easy to fire because it doesn’t have much recoil and can be used even without much hand strength… But Smith & Wesson recently released their M&P 380 Shield EZ, which fills the same role as an easy to shoot and easy to operate pistol. Both guns are awesome, but shooters who want “the best” will still be asking…which one is better? They’re almost identical when it comes to size and weight as well as their magazine capacity. Their retail price is the same too, standing at $399. When you compare the two guns’ magazines, you find that the Walther’s magazine is softer but the S&W’s magazine is still easier to load up thanks to the finger studs. The finger studs allow you to pull the follower down one-handed and lets your other hand easily put…

If you’ve always wanted to own an AR-15 but couldn’t because of the price, you’re going to love what this Pennsylvania company is doing. Meet the Kahr Firearms Group…a company that builds their own guns and also builds their own Thompson-style guns. Their next project is to build a line of budget-friendly Thompson AR’s, based on the famous “Tommy Gun” of the 1920’s. Recently they sold their first Thompson AR to the local police chief, Don Quick. Justin Moon, Kahr’s founder and CEO, said that he’d like to put the AR in every home in America, stating ” mean, every American should really have an AR. It’s America’s rifle.” If the last name “Moon” sounds familiar, that’s probably because of the recent media attention given to a Pennsylvanian church lead by Sean Moon that encouraged its members to bring AR’s in for mass in exchange for receiving a blessing. Justin…

In October of 2017, S&W finally released a gun we’ve all been waiting for. It’s a cross between their M&P series and their polymer framed pistols. The result is their newest pistol, the M&P M2.0 Compact. It’s a gun that’s been designed to challenge the Glock 19 for control of the compact-but-powerful handgun market. Since S&W is positioning this gun as a competitor to the much-loved Glock 19, I think it’s safe to say they aren’t cutting any corners with this gun. I’d expect it to be high-quality, consistent, and overall competitive enough to make people choose the M2.0 Compact over the Glock 19 and similar pistols. Here are some of the specs for the new M.20 Compact: It has a 15+1 capacity in the 9mm version, but a 13+1 capacity in the .40 version. It weighs 24 ounces, which is pretty much the same as guns such as the Glock…

Pistol-caliber carbines are an interesting type of gun because they’re somewhere in between a pistol and a rifle. Some people say they’re pointless, but others swear by them. I happen to think every gun has its place, and pistol-caliber carbines are no exception. Here’s a short list of the 6 coolest pistol-caliber carbines ever made. CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 The CZ Scorpion Evo 3 is the civilian-legal version of their original Scorpion machine pistol but is said to be more reliable than the original gun. It has a sleek looking design and uses a lightweight polymer for its receiver and stock. Plus, the 9mm rounds it’s chambered for provide plenty of stopping power for anyone looking for a reliable home-defense gun. You can pick this carbine up for $900. CMMG Mk9 T The CMMG Mk9 T has the look and feel of an AR-15 but is much more manageable…
