Bad news for all gun owners and especially for those who are on a tight budget. There’s a new bill in the works that could dramatically increase the cost of all firearms and ammunition. H.R. 5103 was recently introduced by Representative Danny Davis, a Democrat from Illinois. His bill would place huge taxes on firearms and ammunition in an attempt to discourage people from buying them. To be exact, his bill would add a 20% on all firearms and 50% tax on ammo. Just imagine that for a moment…paying an extra 50% tax on ammo when it’s already expensive enough as it is. If that passes, many people can say goodbye to shooting at the range for fun, and that’s exactly what the Democrats are going for. After all, if they can’t ban guns outright like they want, they can just tax them out of most people’s budgets and get…

Recently, Florida’s Republican Governor Rick Scott signed a new bill into law that would raise the required age to purchase a gun in Flordia from 18 to 21. The bill, SB 7026, is also called the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. However, soon after signing the bill into law, the state of Florida was sued by the NRA for on the grounds that Americans’ constitutional rights were being trampled based on age discrimination. Here’s what Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA’s lobbying arm, had to say about it: The ban is particularly offensive with respect to young women, as women between the ages of 18 and 21 are much less likely to engage in violent crime than older members of the general population who are unaffected by the ban. The NRA’s lawsuit makes the point that 18-year-olds are considered as being part of the militia and can be conscripted…

The mass shooting in Parkland, Florida is a tragedy that Americans should think deeply about and analyze calmly… But as usual, the left is using this tragedy for their own selfish interests by pressing emotional triggers and using mass hysteria to their advantage. One of the things they’re trying to do this time is to push for a ban on magazines that have a capacity of more than ten rounds. Their reasoning for this new push is that the shooter, who I won’t name here, allegedly used a high-capacity magazine which enabled him to kill more people than he otherwise would have been able to. They think that by banning magazines with more than 10 rounds they’ll be able to keep the public safe from shooters like this. However, there’s a big problem with their argument that’s coming to light now. It turns out that the shooter did NOT use…

Since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, several companies have changed their policies with regards to the sale of firearms. Dick’s Sporting Goods, Walmart, and Kroger have all limited the sale of firearms to people aged 21 or older. And now the most recent company to join this new trend is L.L. Bean. L.L. Bean themselves have confirmed this through their official Twitter account: In the wake of this shooting we have reviewed our policy on firearm sales, and we will no longer be selling guns or ammunition to anyone under the age of 21. By itself, this isn’t a huge loss to the gun community. After all, L.L. Bean only had one store that was licensed to sell firearms, and that’s the one located in Freeport, Maine. However, the thing that is troublesome is that this is a new movement that’s trending on its own without any pressure from…

California Democrats Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher and Todd Gloria want to make it even harder for you to get a CCW in California. Their proposed bill, AB 2103, would make it so there’s a mandatory minimum of firearm training in order to carry a gun in California. As usual, advocates of this anti-gun law argue that it’s necessary to keep guns out of the wrong hands and protect innocent lives. Todd Gloria claims that under current California law, anyone can get a firearm without having any training and that puts the public at risk. Under current law, firearm training is already required and requires that it cover firearm safety and laws related to firearm usage and possession. However, there’s no minimum limit on how long this training would take, and that’s what this proposed law is aiming to fix. If enacted, this proposed law would set a minimum length of 8 hours of firearm training…

As if New York didn’t already have more than enough gun control, the Democrats in the New York Senate just proposed 9 more anti-gun laws for the state. Their proposed gun control laws range from banning guns that aren’t detectable by metal detectors all the way to the vague and wide-reaching ability of the state to seize the guns of anyone they believe poses a “risk”. As usual, Democrats claim these laws are meant for the public good and will help stop gun violence. But will they really work as intended, or will they just make it harder for law-abiding Americans to own guns like we should be allowed? We’ll take a quick look at each of the 9 proposed laws to see what they’re all about: S.3355: Makes it a crime of failure to not store a weapon safely when not being used. S.4363: This is a scary one. If this law…

One of the biggest names in firearms is apparently having financial problems. According to Thomas Reuters, Remington is looking to file for bankruptcy and has been seeking financing from financial institutions. Remington has more than $950,000,000 worth of debt and is looking to refinance it through what’s called “debtor in possession”, which would allow them to continue operating during the process. Apparently, Remington’s financial problems are a result of a sharp decrease in gun sales caused by Trump’s win of the presidential election. Unlike Hillary, Trump is gun-friendly and when he won the election people’s fears about gun control caused a drop in gun sales across the country. This makes sense because if an anti-gun candidate won the election there would be fears about new anti-gun laws, and people would stock up on guns before new laws were enacted. But with Trump in office, there’s less of a perceived threat…

Pistol-caliber carbines are an interesting type of gun because they’re somewhere in between a pistol and a rifle. Some people say they’re pointless, but others swear by them. I happen to think every gun has its place, and pistol-caliber carbines are no exception. Here’s a short list of the 6 coolest pistol-caliber carbines ever made. CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 The CZ Scorpion Evo 3 is the civilian-legal version of their original Scorpion machine pistol but is said to be more reliable than the original gun. It has a sleek looking design and uses a lightweight polymer for its receiver and stock. Plus, the 9mm rounds it’s chambered for provide plenty of stopping power for anyone looking for a reliable home-defense gun. You can pick this carbine up for $900. CMMG Mk9 T The CMMG Mk9 T has the look and feel of an AR-15 but is much more manageable…

If you don’t already carry concealed but have been thinking about it, there are a few things you should know about beforehand. Carrying concealed is a big responsibility, and it will change your life in unexpected ways. Being aware of these changes will make your transition to concealed carry much easier for you. The first thing that changes when you begin carrying a concealed firearm is your mindset. You aren’t just going to buy a holster, put your gun in it, and then forget about it. From now on you’re going to spend a lot of time thinking about your gun, where you can take it, and how to keep it concealed in different situations. You’ll also need to work on developing situational awareness so you can identify potential threats and react to them fast enough to make a difference. Afterall, personal security is the biggest reason to concealed carry…

Here’s a weird case from Virginia that shows just how messed up gun laws have become. A  19 year old Chinese  student who formerly attended Virginia Tech was jailed without bond for possessing a rifle with a 30 round magazine. Officially, the reason for denying Yunsong Zhao bond was to prevent him from being deported before he could be charged for his “crime”. Here’s the part that’s really frustrating. Both his rifle and his 30 round magazine were both perfectly legal…except when he combined them together they become illegal! When combined, the rifle technically qualifies as an “assault weapon” even though it’s the same exact rifle. Zhao’s defense attorney apparently didn’t even try to challenge the law itself, knowing that it would probably be a pointless struggle. Instead, he argues that Zhao never used his rifle with a 30 round magazine. According to Zhao’s lawyer, Jason Wolfrey, Zhao used to own a…
